The changes in the environment surrounding the world of entertainment that began in the end of the 20th century, have gone even further in the 21st century.
Contents, the way they are made, and the business models are all still changing at an ever-accelerating pace, as we move through paradigm shifts triggered by developments in technology and infrastructure.
Things that people said were “cool!” until very recently become stale and outdated before you know it.
From the creator's point of view, this is a very difficult era.
However, no matter how much times change, I believe that the essence of what people expect from entertainment remains unchanged.

People find their dreams in entertainment.
They also seek entertainment as a source of hope for life, of healing when times are hard, and of ways to make their good times more enjoyable.
I believe that desire in itself is the same now as it was in the past.
Of course, the enjoyment, the volume, and pace of entertainment may vary between eras, but the essential nature will still be the same.
We can only fulfill that essence by all of us creators approaching the games we aspire to make with commitment and taking one step at a time to bring them closer to their ideal forms.

My goal is to establish a free and open communicative environment in this studio.
That may sound too simple as an objective.
But even the greatest creators cannot work at their full potential in solitude.
I believe that the first step to creating quality work and fulfilling the true form of entertainment with high motivation, begins with an environment of open communication.

We say everything that we want to say to each other, regardless of our positions.
We are not afraid to make mistakes, as we can turn these mistakes into advantages by accepting and correcting them. And we never abandon our ideals, but rather work tenaciously towards them.
It may seem obvious, but that obvious thing is surprisingly difficult to attain, and at the same time, it’s the most important thing.
This studio strives for serious creation of content from that kind of environment to the world.

Career History

1989

Joined Sega Enterprises, Ltd.

1994

Made a debut as a producer with the release of 'Daytona USA'

2000

Upon the division of SEGA Development Studio, appointed as CEO of Amusement Vision.

Responsible for the "Monkey Ball" series and the collaborative titles with Nintendo Co., Ltd., "F-ZERO GX" and "F-ZERO AX"

2005

Released the title "Yakuza” (“Like a Dragon”) as the general director.

Since then, involved as general director in all works under the "Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio" brand until the release of "LOST JUDGMENT: Unjudged Memory" in 2021.

2011

Appointed as COO of SEGA Corporation.

2021

Resigned as Director of Sega Corporation.
